What an immersive museum in Ahmedabad feels like

A multi-sensory museum is one you step into instead of looking at. At Spectra, in Thaltej, eight rooms respond to how you move: light, sound, scent and surfaces change as you walk, draw or wave. You don’t watch the art from a distance. The art answers you.

What “multi-sensory” means here

Sight, sound and touch all get a turn. Cortex adds scent. The common rule is that the room is not a picture of something, it is something that happens when you arrive. Move in Vortex and the room sends ripples of sound and colour back. Step in Glimmer and bursts of colour follow you. Draw in Chronicle and your drawing comes to life on the wall.

It is art and technology working together: the art gives each room its feeling, and the technology lets a wall answer back.
