Things to do in Ahmedabad, from 11 AM to 9:30 PM
If you want an indoor afternoon or a late evening that isn’t another dinner, go to Spectra. It is India’s first multi-sensory museum, on Science City Road in Thaltej: eight rooms of light, sound and colour that react to how you move. Open every day, 11 AM to 9:30 PM.

Open into the evening, every day.
Spectra is open every day from 11 AM, and the last slot is at 9:30 PM. That makes it a plan for a hot afternoon, and just as much a plan for after an early dinner, when the rest of your options have started to close.
Who is coming with you?
- FamilyIn Vortex every movement sends ripples of sound and colour through the room, and in Chronicle everyone draws something and watches it come to life on the wall. Birthdays have their own page.
- The two of youLaurel, Lume and Celestial are made for standing still next to someone. Date ideas, and what to wear.
- A classA field trip where the class takes part. School trips.
- ColleaguesA team day with nothing to present. Team outings.
- Friends from out of townA good answer to “what is there to do here?” that they have not already done. What it feels like inside.

What happens in there
The rooms answer back. In Cortex, light, sound, scent and surfaces react to you. In Glimmer, every step sets off bursts of colour and sparkle. In Saga, you design an avatar and guide it through a mythic world. In Celestial, mirrors and projection turn one room into an endless starfield.
